More than 15 years ago, Phil needed to get a newly purchased bulldozer from south WA to the coast of NSW. He spent two weeks ringing around for transport and eventually found a truckie. However, one week later when another truckie phoned looking for a job, they realised they had both missed a better opportunity. The truckie had been in town all along and they had both wasted two weeks in a business where time is money.

 

It got Phil thinking. Phil saw that what both shippers and carriers lacked was an easy, transparent and efficient way of connecting to each other.

 

Loadshift launched a year later.
